SUMMARY

The New England Patriots were really good to us in 2009. We got to open their fabulous outdoor Rock the Plaza series in April, we made 4 appearances on their “Totally Patriots” TV show throughout the year (see videos) and then we got to play out in front of Gillette during the pregame for the team’s game against the Panthers. I was so cold, I had to cut holes in cheap gloves and seal the cuts with Ryan’s lighter (proving that I guess you CAN play guitar with gloves on). Steve, on the other hand, was right in front of the giant heater they brought out for us and was so hot he stripped down to a t-shirt!

We played a really fun set with fans watching above us, below us and all around us as we played on a balcony above the main entrance gate. The Pats always treat us great, so we were psyched to be able to take 5 excited SPR fans with us to the game after we were done.

A very fun day and a job well done for a band that was still very much in transition. This was Ryan’s third show, Steve’s fourth show and, sadly, it was Jarret’s last. - Mick
