A few months ago we made our first appearance on The Big Sauce Radio Show and we had a blast. After playing their music showcase at McGann’s last February, their host Dean asked us to write a theme song for their show.

Well…we did. Tonight we’ll be there to debut it live on the air!

The show starts at 8pm and you can listen live by heading on over to UnregularRadio.com

BAND FOR SALE - SPR seeks representation (booking/promotion/publicity) as Mick Greenwood steps aside as manager

First of all, no - I’m not quitting the band. Quite the contrary.

When I took my bow with the band at the end of the CD Release Show, the performer in me had never been happier…and the manager in me had never been more miserable. Why? Because I knew then and there that I had taken us as far as my time/experience/connections could take us. We had done everything I could get for us on my own. All we could do next was lather, rinse, repeat and fall into the same rut that has claimed so many other bands in Boston. Frankly, I won’t stand for it.

We’re a damn good band. A DAMN good band and every second I spend doing logistics, phone calls, research, design, is a second I’m not spending with a guitar in my hands and that’s selling us short in the long run. We’ve put together an album, a presence, and an overall package that I think is road-ready and built for success. I’m not ashamed to admit that I now need some help to get us there.

Effective immediately, we are in the market to hire and retain the services of any/all of the following:

  • Tour management / Booking agent
  • Publicist / Publicity Management
  • Promoter
  • Artist / Overall Management

I recognize that the phrase “Band for Sale” is likely a misnomer as we will likely have to pay for these services. I/we will deal with that when the time comes, just know that we are aware of it and preparing for it.

I will be overseeing the hiring process as we look to add these components to our attempts to ‘professionalize’ this operation, so in the meantime I will remain the first point-of-contact for all SPR business matters.

Anyone with any insight, recommendation, contact information, etc. is encouraged to reach out to me directly.

Thanks for the time, thanks for the help, and thank you most of all for the support,

Mick Greenwood

Help SPR Play At Bonnaroo (And Help Yourself Get There Too)!!

Hey everyone,

So Bonnaroo and SonicBids have teamed up to present “The Road to Roo,” an online contest that will give two independent/unsigned/local/whatever you want to call them bands the opportunity to play at Bonnaroo in Manchester, Tennessee this June. (If you aren’t familiar with Bonnaroo, you really should click that link, since it’s sort of amazing.) The Self-Proclaimed Rockstars have thrown their hats in the ring and we need your help.

The contest winner is determined by number of downloads, so we’ve offered up a new version of Whisky for you- the same version, in fact, that is on “Postcards From Purgatory” and will be released April 23rd. (Translation: If you get it now, you don’t have to pay for it. :) )

Go To SPR’s Bonnaroo Contest Page

It’s super easy- you don’t have to create an account, since it’s all linked to Facebook. (And no, you won’t get anything posted to your wall, but we’d really appreciate it if you shared the download page with others.) In addition, you will be entered to win VIP tickets to Bonnaroo for yourselves, which is reason in itself to participate.

Thanks for all of your help!
