The Biggest Letdown (and their smokin’ hot model) review Postcards from Purgatory!

September 6th, 2011

So our abbreviated work-week at our stupid jobs started a little more pleasant than we expected. We got an awesome review from The Biggest Letdown, a music site that seems to have a lot in common with us:

  • We both chose self-deprecating names
  • We both work in the music business
  • And we both have an appreciation for hot chicks (this is their official model, Page 73 Girl btw…)

Anyhoo, newly budding laundry-room fantasies aside, their review was super complimentary. Here’s the best line:

“Remember when music actually had style and was well-made? This is another example of that.”

Thanks to Andy and the staff (especially Page 73 girl) at TBL for the kind words and giving our record a spin.

Music Box Pete interviews SPR…and likely regrets it :)

Hey, our old buddy Pete, of the Music Box Pete Blog recently interviewed most of us. The topics range from “Why would you pick such a ridiculous name for your band?” to “What is your record about?” and some previews of things to come. Plus you get to learn why Ryan can’t be trusted with a microphone and why Mick is retiring as band manager.

SPR partners with Powderfinger Promotions to promote “Postcards from Purgatory” to Radio & Media

So, we’re actually trying to act like real rockstars to push our record to radio and media. So, we figured we should do what lots of real rockstars have done before us - we’ve partnered with Powderfinger Promotions!

So, from here on in, they’ll be handling all of our radio/press stuff for us for the new record, which leaves Mick a lot more time during the day to do (and hate) his day job and it leaves the rest of the band more time to rehearse and write material! Powderfinger actually has a pretty sweet roster of artists that we’ve joined, you should check them out (I mean…Bootsy Collins?! GTFO!). In addition, Powderfinger alums include 311, Drive-By Truckers, Gov’t Mule, Rick Danko of The Band, The Dresden Dolls and more! You know…shit…if it worked for them, it could work for us….right?….*hopeful smile*?

But yeah, if any of all y’all work at, or know any one that works at a radio station, blog, magazine, newspaper, newsletter, over-active-opinionated-twitterer, etc.. well, it’d be pretty sweet if you flipped them the info below. We’re always willing and appreciative to talk about the group and/or the record. Shit, we’ll even call in sick to the day jobs if we have to..
