Scott McLennan who writes Boston.com’s “Boston by Beat” spoke with Johnny and Mick about the album and their upcoming release party and residency at Radio. Mr. McLennan had some kind words for the project, an excerpt of which can be found below:

The band also avoids quick hits, layering each song with noise, solos, and other sonic detours. All five members chip in to and sign off on lyrics that take shape on a white board in the band’s practice space, which leads to some pretty winding narratives. So if you’re looking for a band with some sardonic edge, you’ll do well by The Interrobang.

A heavier rock-infused project, the direction of The Interrobang appears to be focused and power-driven. Despite the darker tones in ‘Chaos & Confusion’ and ‘Bombs Away’, The Interrobang produces some catchy tracks including ‘American DebtSlave’ with a very identifiable and fairly self-explanatory message, ”I wake, I work, I sleep, I pay and I wonder why I played this game”, and my personal favorite, the tight and enticing ‘All Smiles’ with a killer line, “My reputation’s gravely misunderstood.”

Our thanks to Bishop & Rook for their kind words and coverage!

The Show

If you are familiar with the New England music scene, then you are well aware why we are so flattered to celebrate this milestone with such a strong lineup. This entire lineup is incredible.

When Particles Collide
They’re a rock ‘n roll duo from Bangor Maine that plays a high-energy, captivating set of original songs about the things that keep people up at night. Their lead singer/guitarist, Sasha, is a polka-dotted pistol of a frontwoman and their drummer, Chris, is an absolute predator on the kit – speed, power – he’s got it all. Plus it’s his 30th birthday that night.
Moles by When Particles Collide

The Susan Constant
Straight ahead Boston indie rock with enough dancey-dance thrown in to keep things interesting. These guys are everywhere. The 2012 Rumble alums parlayed that into being named one of 2013′s “Bands to Watch” and delivered a new EP this year, “Shapes”, that is an album without weakness. Their lead singer, Paul, has a voice all his own. He could sing Ave Maria and make it a TSC song.
Like A Ghost by The Susan Constant

The Michael J Epstein Memorial Library
An all-star cast of Boston band members/alumni (The Motion Sick, Axemunkee, Johnny Blazes and The Pretty Boys, Do Not Forsake Me, Oh My Darling!, etc.) combine to create the world’s only male-fronted, all-female, librarian-attired, downtempo, indie, ensemble-pop act featuring intricately constructed, tongue-in-cheek tortuous songs with an emphasis on narrative. Their new song, below, is off-the-charts good.
The Taming of the Spy Who Loved Me by The Michael J. Epstein Memorial Library

The Residency

We’re flattered to announce that this show begins our permanent residency at Radio bar in Union Sq. We will own the last Saturday of every month (except August, we’ve got the 24th). We’ve already begun booking some incredible lineups to carry forth the momentum of this first show. There will be some themed shows, there will be some special shows, we’ll invite some friends to release their new records with us. It’s the beginning of a great partnership in a great room.
