SPR Announces The House of Blues Christmas Sweater Jamboree!

December 1st, 2009
Bookmark and Share

This is gonna be a lot of fun!

We’re closing out 2009 with a big bash up in the gorgeous and exclusive VIP Foundation Room at the House of Blues. This room is normally a members only venue (and naturally so, since it’s by far the nicest room in this city..or any city that we’ve seen!); but, thankfully, they have opened up access to approximately 100 of our fans, with one catch - YOU MUST GET PASSES (tickets) AHEAD OF TIME. This wasn’t our idea, but we’ve gotta do it this way in order to be able to use the room…so think of it as an incentive to plan ahead. :)

The Details:
Date: Saturday, December 19, 2009
Start Time: 8:30pm
End Time: 1:00am
Location: House of Blues (Foundation Room)
Address: 5 Lansdowne Street, Boston, MA

There are a lot of great rock ‘n’ roll Christmas songs out there and we’re gonna be mixing our favorites in with old and (gasp!) NEW SPR tunes!

Like every year, our Christmas show is an ugly sweater party - we saw some great ones last year and can’t wait to surf the sea of sequins and light up sh…tuff…that covers the sweaters this year! (Hint: Hit up your local Goodwill, especially in towns that have a lot of old people. Just saying.)

Unless you’re a Foundation Room member, you can’t get in this room any other day of the year, so don’t miss the opportunity to look cool in front of your friends. (*smirk*) See below to order your tickets ($10 each).

And remember, like Krusty the Klown before us, we wish you a Merry Christmas, Happy Chanukah, Kwaazy Kwanzaa Tip-top Tete, and a Solemn and Dignified Ramadan. (Though isn’t that in August or something? Eh, no one ever accused us of being on time.)

PS - please note the room’s dress code (at the bottom of this post)…they will spin you around and we won’t be able to help :( (though we have to imagine that they will make exceptions for ugly sweaters, naturally)

Update: If you would like to be put on the guest list for the show, just RSVP on Facebook (above) and we will reach out to you regarding next steps. Thanks!

FOUNDATION ROOM DRESS CODE:
The Foundation Room dress code is business casual. Jeans can be worn, but must not be torn, faded, or oversized and should be worn with a collared shirt or blazer. The following are not allowed: T-shirts without a jacket, sweatshirts, sneakers, sandals, baseball hats, tank tops, short and torn clothing. The Foundation Room Manager reserves the right to consult with members and guests on appropriateness of attire. Athletes, touring talent and their guests may be outside the dress code. Other exceptions for members and their guests may be considered on a case by case basis. On occasion, dress code may be relaxed or adjusted for Fenway Park events and due to certain weather conditions. These exceptions will be judicious.

For those of you that couldn’t make it to The Bitter End in New York last Saturday, here’s some video…and yeah, that’s John Popper from Blues Traveler, you know, no big deal… :)

Thanks to everyone who partied with us that night!

SPR Announces The 2009 Thanksdrinking Day Ball!

It’s the most wonderful time of the year! A show that gets bigger and BIGger and BIGGER every single year, the Superbowl of the SPR calendar - The annual SPR THANKSDRINKINGDAY BALL!

It’s like a prom….for adults….with booze….yay!

We’ve got the cheapest drinks ($2.75 beers, $3.25 cocktails), the most attractive well-dressed fans and the best damn music you can find anywhere on the best drinking night of the year.

This is the best hometown party/drinking night of the year and we’re psyched to be throwing a BASH! We’ve got
* The CHEAPEST DRINKS ($2.75 beers, $3.25 cocktails)
* A wicked cheap door price ($8)
* Ample FREE parking
* The most attractive, well-dressed fans
* Nashville’s own Grammy contender - Tori Sparks
* Master of Ceremonies; Comedian Tom Dunlap
* A free copy of SPR’s new live album for all attendees

Even if you’re gonna check out another party on this night, definitely try to stop on by for a little while. We deck the place out top/bottom and everybody has a blast.

We had a packed house last year, so we don’t want anyone getting turned away - get a ticket early! You can purchase tickets online via the SPR web site at http://www.sprband.com/2009/11/spr-announces-the-2009-thanksdrinking-day-ball/

We’re really psyched to be welcoming, all the way from Music City in Nashville - Billboard ranked and Grammy contender Tori Sparks to share in the festivities!! Normally when you think girl/guitar you think soft and emotional - not Tori, this girl rocks!

It’s also with mixed emotions that we report that this show will be Jarret Izzo’s final appearance with The Self-Proclaimed Rockstars. Jarret is like family and we’re sad to see him go, but let’s send him off in style!

Remember - we ask everybody to dress nicely, it IS a ball after all! Girls, this is your chance to rock your dresses and skirts. Guys, if you want to see the girls rock their dresses and skirts, show up with a collar and no jeans or sneakers!

So come on you beautiful people, let’s have a great party!

Happy Thanksdrinkingday everybody!
